Car Insurance Services

Remember what happened to many of us during the super typhoon Ondoy? The night before, we went home and parked our cars either in front of our houses or inside our garages. Tucked away safely from harm. Lo and behold, when we woke up in the morning we suddenly discover our cars have been turned upside down by the water inside our parking spaces or washed away down the street by the rampaging flood waters. After everything that had happened, we looked at our beloved cars and scratch our heads asking, "Was I able to insure my vehicle?"

For most people who have their car still amortized, five years-to-pay, most likely, they were. Lucky them. We were one of the not so lucky ones. We were passed that. I thought, then, that since I am a fairly safe driver, I didn’t need to insure my car since I didn't really get into much trouble or accidents. True enough, I didn’t really get into any. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had something else in mind.

Bottom line, the cost of restoring the car and having it fixed was so astronomical, the only option I was left with was to really sell it as if it were junk. I lost the car. On the other hand, our neighbor, had a different experience all together. He had all his cars insured. Ergo, his insurance company paid for the claims and after a couple of months, he was able to either have some of his cars fixed and the others replaced. Good for him, ouch for us.

Lesson learned.

Okay. We won't have these calamities often. But when they do happen, it happens when we least expect them. I'm not even talking about MVAs (Motor Vehicle Accidents). No matter how careful and prudent we are as drivers, we don’t know if others are. Best case scenario, if we have motor insurance coverage, the only thing we get to worry about is calling our agent and have him/her facilitate our claims. At least someone will pay for the damages to our property.

Mind you, some even provide free towing assistance and overnight accommodation if we get stranded. There are a myriad of benefits that car/motor insurance providers give to their insured clients.

Hey. If the Hulk throws your car to smash a villain, at least you get to claim from someone else.

(PS. I think it’s a bad a idea to ask the green guy to pay when he's mad.) Although if its Thor's hammer, make sure that you have coverage for Acts of God.
